Diabesity – the intersection of obesity and diabetes – presents growing challenges for today’s workforce, impacting injured worker health, recovery and productivity. This course explores current trends in obesity and diabetes, along with their physical and economic impact, key risk factors and common complications, with a clear focus on the elevated risks when both conditions coexist. Learners also gain practical insight into managing claims involving diabesity through evidence‑based guidelines, physical therapy and ergonomic considerations. The training emphasizes a holistic, collaborative approach that engages all stakeholders to support injury prevention, strengthen recovery and enable a more successful return to work.
