Navigating Risk, Recovery and Resilience
Speaker: Michelle Despres, PT, CEAS II, REAS, CETS
This course examines the intersection of aging, disability and occupational health, providing a clear view of the challenges and opportunities associated with an evolving workforce. Learners explore demographic trends related to aging and disability and gain insight into how these shifts influence labor markets, workplace dynamics and recovery outcomes. The training also looks closely at workplace injuries, highlighting how injury risk, recovery timelines and outcomes can vary by age and injury type. Participants learn how common age‑related physiological changes – including reduced flexibility, slower healing and changes in sensory function – can affect safety and job performance. The session equips workers’ compensation professionals with practical, data‑informed strategies to support injury prevention and management for older injured workers, helping create safer, healthier and more inclusive work environments.
