Concentra Partners with One Call to Speed Access to Care
Addison-based Concentra, an occupational medicine provider, has partnered with One Call — a Jacksonville, Fla.-based specialized cost-containment services company—to provide transportation networks connecting injured workers to Concentra medical centers.
The pilot for the transportation initiative launched in May in Dallas-Fort Worth and select cities and has since expanded after testing. According to Concentra, injured employees can use One Call’s relay transportation solution through an app, and Concentra medical centers will be able to request on-demand transportation while preparing for the patient’s arrival. “This service can be used to transport any employee following an on-the-job injury, at no additional cost,” Concentra said in a statement.
The transportation solution aims to have curbside pick-up and drop-off completed with an average wait time of less than three minutes and access to rides 24/7. The rides will be provided by One Call’s transportation network, Lyft, and other ride-sharing services.
Concentra CEO Keith Newton says the joint venture offers a convenient, cost-effective option to employers and their employees, helping to remove access barriers and ensure prompt and trusted medical care from Concentra. “By utilizing One Call’s relay transportation solution, we’re able to provide an added benefit to employers, while also creating efficiencies in our centers and assurances that injured employees will receive the care they need,” Newton said.
