As part of an internal meeting in January, our sales team built 15 bikes for children of The Carpenter’s Shop Center, a local non-profit that provides underserved children in Jacksonville’s Arlington community with STEM-based after-school and summer camp programs. The experience was so moving, we committed to providing every child at the center with a bicycle.

Yesterday, we fulfilled that commitment by surprising 66 children at the center with new bicycles, just in time for summer.

In attendance at the event were One Call CEO Rone Baldwin, City of Jacksonville’s Director of Community & Internal Affairs Dr. Charles Moreland and COO of Kids Hope Alliance Mary Tobin.

“As a company headquartered in downtown Jacksonville, we’re proud to give back today to our local community,” stated Baldwin.

Tobin expressed her gratitude for the community partners who made it possible for the kids to enjoy a childhood staple – riding your bike.

Rone then announced the big surprise and the screaming children ran to their bicycles.

It was an emotional and joyous experience for the children, community partners and staff of The Carpenter’s Shop Center. Headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, we were proud to have the opportunity to make a difference in our local community.

Thank you to all the community partners, who played a vital role in this event: Academy Sports + Outdoors, Kids Hope Alliance, City of Jacksonville and The Carpenter's Shop Center.
