NWCDC: An Opportunity to Connect, Collaborate and Share Key Insights

Once again, One Call attended the National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference, an annual event that brings together the best minds in the workers’ compensation industry.

This year’s event did not disappoint. From Dec. 5-7, representatives from all levels, companies and locations throughout the country gathered at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center to make connections, gather insights and get ready to tackle some of the industry’s toughest issues, such as complex claims, opioid abuse and data breaches.

Our very own Chief Risk Officer Kevin Harried took on the latter topic in his session entitled, “Healthcare Under Attack: Tools for Combating Cybersecurity Risks.” Kevin and his presentation partner, Adam Solandor of King & Spalding LLP, broke their session up into three parts: insider training, program set-up and available services. Attendees walked away with some solutions to easily begin implementing, such as deleting old data, which is an easy target for hackers.

We were very busy sharing some of our latest news with industry media contacts in attendance. Linda Colsen, national product leader for transportation, shared our most recent, and impressive, RelayRIDE results while Sean Sullivan, senior director of product management, discussed the recent launch of our Biopsychosocial Health Program.

The thought leadership continued at our booth where our panel of experts gave demos and discussed solution-based approaches such as CarePath Solutions, telerehab and opioid reduction/pain management.

NWCDC was a great success. We’re already looking forward to our next opportunity to come together as an industry as we all strive to provide the best healthcare and outcomes for injured workers.
